UNDP works with Montserrat to strengthen preparedness, support sustainable livelihoods and advance practical solutions for long-term resilience.

Our Partnership with Montserrat

Montserrat’s development context is shaped by environmental vulnerability and the long-term impacts of volcanic activity. UNDP cooperation is grounded in a 1960 agreement with the United Kingdom, which represents the territory internationally. Our work focuses on preparedness, blue economy opportunities, livelihoods and the systems needed to support long-term resilience.

Our support includes disaster preparedness, recovery-oriented planning, sustainable livelihoods and blue economy development, while strengthening local capacity and helping communities adapt to changing environmental and economic conditions.
