Procurement
Procurement is the process of acquiring goods, civil works and services, from identifying needs and selecting suppliers to awarding contracts and managing delivery through to completion.
This page shares current procurement notices and information about procurement at UNDP.
UNDP Procurement
UNDP procurement must comply with the organization’s financial rules and regulations. These requirements help ensure accountability, transparency and value in the way resources are used.
Our four core principles:
- Best value for money
- Fairness, integrity and transparency
- Effective international competition
- The best interest of UNDP
Procurement Methods
Depending on the type, complexity and value of the requirement, UNDP uses different procurement methods:
Micro-Purchasing
Used for lower-value goods, services or simple works.
Request for Quotation (RFQ)
Used for clearly defined goods, services or civil works at a mid-range value.
Invitation to Bid (ITB)
Used for higher-value requirements that are clearly and concisely defined, where price is normally the main basis for award.
Request for Proposal (RFP)
Used for higher-value services that cannot be clearly or concisely defined, where both technical and financial criteria are considered.
