Authentic Maldives website launched supported by BCC, Japan

Under the ‘Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development for SMEs’ SEEDS project funded by the Government of Japan, UNDP Maldives is proud to support the launch of Authentic Maldives website, launched in partnership with Business Centre Cooperation (BCC). The new website promotes local artistry and craftsmanship by featuring local businesses showcasing their work.

The Authentic Maldives website is an important step to support small businesses and empower local communities. The website will provide local MSMEs as well as home-based workers, a much-needed platform to showcase their work and reach markets beyond our shores. One of the most exciting features of this website is how it will show the personal journey and ideas behind local brands. It is intended to create opportunity and give recognition to the uniqueness, diversity and the hard work of people, and their brands. This would be a platform to enhance businesses and provide greater access to local products.

Currently, over 60 local businesses from across the Maldives are featured on the Authentic Maldives website.

The official Authentic Maldives website was launched by the Japanese Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Keiko Yanai, and is funded by the Government of Japan.
