Integrated Development Solutions, Driven by Angola’s Priorities

UNDP’s work in Angola is guided by the 2024–2028 Country Programme, aligned with national development priorities and the UNDP Strategic Plan 2022–2025, which redefines how we measure impact through #NextGenUNDP and #FutureSmartUNDP.

With over 50 years of global experience and presence in 170 countries, UNDP focuses on where country needs are greatest — expanding people’s choices for a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future.

What We Do

In Angola, UNDP promotes integrated development solutions across four strategic pillars:

Health and Wellbeing

We support equitable access to quality health services, particularly for women, youth, and vulnerable populations. As a Global Fund partner, UNDP helps ensure uninterrupted HIV, TB, malaria, and COVID-19 services, and works to eliminate gender and human rights barriers in healthcare. We promote local innovation, logistics systems, and digital tools for resilient, community-led health responses.

Employment and Inclusive Growth

UNDP fosters inclusive economic growth by expanding opportunities for youth, women, and marginalized groups. We strengthen value chains, boost access to finance, and support the formalization of the informal economy. Through strategic partnerships, we drive job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills development to increase income and resilience.

Climate Action and Environmental Resilience

UNDP supports Angola’s environmental agenda by helping implement national climate and biodiversity strategies, restoring ecosystems, and promoting renewable energy access. We scale up access to global climate finance (GEF, GCF, LDCF), support land degradation neutrality, and promote nature-based solutions that benefit rural communities, especially women and youth.

Governance

We strengthen inclusive governance by supporting local institutions, justice systems, and civic engagement. UNDP promotes gender-responsive and digitally enabled policies that improve service delivery, expand legal aid, and ensure no one is left behind — especially women, persons with disabilities, and youth. Innovation and digitalisation drive all our work, from open data to participatory platforms and business incubators.
