UNDP Angola

Our Partners

UNDP and the Government of Angola

Partnerships are at the heart of everything UNDP does. In Angola, we work closely with the Government and national institutions to implement the 2024–2028 Country Programme, aligned with national development priorities. Projects are government-led, with UNDP providing technical support to deliver sustainable and inclusive solutions across the country.

United Nations System

UNDP plays a central role in the UN development system. Our Administrator, Achim Steiner, serves as Vice-Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG), which brings together over 40 UN agencies to support countries in advancing the 2030 Agenda. UNDP’s integrative mandate ensures coordinated, effective, and evidence-based support toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

International Financial Institutions

UNDP partners with over 20 major International Financial Institutions (IFIs) worldwide. These partnerships bring technical expertise, scalable financing, and policy support to help governments accelerate progress on the SDGs. In Angola, collaboration with IFIs boosts national capacity and unlocks access to climate finance instruments like the GEF and the GCF.

Civil Society

We engage a wide range of formal and informal civil society organisations, including NGOs, grassroots movements, and community groups. These partnerships help ensure that development efforts are inclusive, locally grounded, and responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable.

Private Sector

The private sector plays a vital role in advancing innovation, creating jobs, and financing sustainable solutions. UNDP works with businesses to adopt inclusive and sustainable practices that align with the SDGs, building markets that leave no one behind.

Donors

The diversity of donors supporting our work reflects strong trust in UNDP’s role and impact. Their contributions enable us to deliver tangible results and scale up transformative development initiatives across Angola.

Academia

Universities and research institutions are key partners in knowledge generation, capacity building, and SDG advocacy. In Angola, academia is actively engaged in programme design and monitoring, helping to shape informed and future-ready development strategies.
