July 8, 2025
Kyiv, 7 July 2025 – The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine have launched a new digital platform within the Diia application called "Veteran PRO". This dedicated section will serve as a centralized hub, providing veterans and their families with streamlined access to essential services.
Veteran PRO offers a comprehensive range of services, such as connecting with support specialists, assistance for sports, preferential mortgage programme eOselia, assistance eRecovery, aid, and information on subsidies and disability status confirmation. This initiative is designed to save veterans time and provide them with convenient and quick access to the necessary support directly from their smartphones.
The new section was unveiled on 7 July in Kyiv with key participants including Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova, alongside other stakeholders and partners.
Over the coming months, the Veteran PRO section will be expanded to incorporate the evolving needs of the veteran community, taking into account feedback from public organisations, support specialists, and veterans themselves. Future enhancements are expected to include additional information formats, increased capacities for veteran support specialists, instructional guides, videos, webinars, and training events.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and state enterprise Diia, implemented this project with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine within the framework of the DIA Support project, which is implemented with funding from Sweden.
Background:
UNDP and Sweden are committed to consistently supporting the Ukrainian government in developing new e-services for veterans, thereby facilitating their and their families’ interactions with the state. Last year this partnership supported the launch of an electronic veteran’s ID in Diia, which was generated more than 300,000 times within six months since its introduction. Other services supported by the partners include notifications regarding compensation for the education costs of veterans’ children, a set of services for veterans support specialists, the online provision of an extract from the Unified State Register of Veterans, as well as services for obtaining two official statuses for veterans and their family members.
