Gender inequality disproportionately affects women and girls across the globe. Gender has implications for health in the course of every person’s life. That is why, health system today should continuously identify and address the differing needs and situations of females and males of different age and groups.

This publication outlines the principles of mainstreaming gender-responsive approach into health care projects and highlights the role of UNDP in promoting gender equality in the area of health. UNDP and partners will continue addressing gender-related barriers to healthcare and adhering to the principles of inclusiveness to ensure Universal Health Coverage, leaving no one behind.
