Call for Applications: Participation in COP28

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal welcomes applications from Nepali journalists (preference will be given to disadvantaged and marginalized communities as defined by the Government of Nepal) to take part in the 2023 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) for   a period  of 5 Days between 30 November to 12 December  2023, being held  in Expo City, Dubai.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Selected participants will take part in meetings, side-events, and discussions with other civil society organizations and official delegates and share his/her thoughts in different media;

- Reporting back to UNDP Nepal regarding developments of the conference and the status of climate negotiations.

- Remain in a close contact with other Nepalese Delegates, including UNDP Delegate and share the experiences and updates

- Upon returning from COP28, selected participant will write articles/reports on the discussions relating to Nepal’s context.  

Pre-requisites:

- Must be Nepali Journalist (preference will be given to those belonging to Disadvantaged or minority community* (Indigenous people, Dalits, person with Disability or person from LGBTIQ+ community)

- Must have at least 5 years of experience in the fields of Journalism and should have articles published in the field of climate change or other relevant fields.

After selection, successful candidate should him/herself register at COP28.  

Application Requirements:

- An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV).

- A letter of motivation with description of relevant experience and knowledge as well as the motivation to participate in COP28.

Two way tickets and  a 100 % DSA   for Dubai and  4 legs terminal expenses of the selected candidate will be covered by UNDP Nepal.
