The study, Informal Sector Survey 2021: Rapid assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on informal sector, developed by the Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) with technical support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Maldives, compares a sample of informal employment pre- and post-pandemic, looking at loss of income and employment across industries and gender.
