World Meteorological Day - MET Maldives Website and PARH function on Moosun App Launched

23 March 2022: On the event commemorating World Meteorological Day, Maldives Meteorological Services - supported by UNDP Maldives, with the generous support of the Japan - The Government of Japan - officially launched their upgraded website which brings realtime climate updates and alerts to the public more accessibly in Dhivehi and English. The new user-friendly website will have better-localised weather and accurate information through crucial weather-related data that communities need for better, resilient & climate-proof planning.

Also at the event, was the launch of a new update for the Maldives Meteorological Service's Moosun app; the Probable Area of Rainwater Harvesting (PARH) function, supported by the Green Climate Fund & UNDP Maldives, is a new addition to the Moosun App which sends realtime alerts on probable rainfall. PARH will alert the public on potential areas and possible volume of rain which will assist in rainwater harvesting and water management, helping improve water security in our communities.
