UNDP and Denmark empower green entrepreneurship in Georgia
Call for Applications: Creators & Eco Entrepreneurs from Poti and Khobi – This is Your Moment
July 10, 2025
Do you make eco-friendly products, use eco-friendly materials, offer sustainable services or create art and dream of a business that doesn’t harm nature but helps your community thrive?
Participation in the programme is free of charge. UNDP will cover all costs related to training, materials, and any travel or accommodation required for programme activities.
Then we’d love to hear from you.
Why this call?
Through the project 'Greening the Future, Advancing Rights and Stability', UNDP Georgia — with support from the Government of Denmark — is launching a special initiative in Poti and Khobi to support local green entrepreneurs and creatives like you. Whether you're a one-person business, a small group, or just getting started, if you care about sustainability and want to grow your work, this opportunity is for you.
With this initiative, we aim to encourage the creation and broader adoption of products and services that are designed with sustainability in mind —meaning they minimise environmental harm, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use resources responsibly, support social well-being, and promote long-term economic resilience. These environmentally and climate-friendly solutions are made using renewable, recycled, reused, or biodegradable materials, require less energy and water, and are created to last longer, be easily repaired, or used again — reflecting the principles of the circular economy. Through this call, we promote not only sustainable production and consumption but also climate-conscious creativity and entrepreneurship that help reduce pollution and waste, protect natural ecosystems, increase income and advance the green transition.
We want to help you:
- Strengthen your skills and confidence
- Reach more people, including tourists and the local community
- Boost your income while staying true to your values
- Be part of Poti’s and Khobi’s shift toward a greener, smarter, and fairer future
Who Can Apply?
We’re looking for:
- Local makers, artists, and entrepreneurs in Poti and Khobi who are interested in eco-friendly products
- People creating eco-conscious products (e.g., reusable, plastic-free, upcycled, natural, biodegradable, repurposed, restored)
- Creatives who want to make their art part of sustainable tourism (e.g., storytelling, exhibitions, experiences)
- Service providers using environmentally friendly materials or methods (e.g., eco-packaging, eco-design, eco-materials)
- Women, youth, internally displaced persons, and underrepresented voices are especially encouraged to apply
What Will You Get?
If selected, you will join a vibrant programme offering:
- Skills for growth – 3-month intensive learning programme, including training on green business, digital marketing, eco-packaging, branding, pricing, storytelling, and selling to tourists and online customers
- Creative Labs & Peer Circles – safe spaces to test ideas, get feedback, and co-create with other local and national talents
- Green Showroom & Pop-up Spaces – chances to showcase and sell your products to locals and tourists in curated markets and cultural events
- Mentoring – co-creating of professional photos, videos, branding, and support to tell your brand story on social media and other platforms
- Connections and Network – meet local and national businesses, tourism operators, e-commerce platforms and even potential buyers and partners from outside Poti and Khobi
- Seed Support – a limited number of participants will be selected with internal competition and receive tailored support to kickstart or scale their work
What’s the Bigger Picture?
We have developed two portfolios: “Poti: Community-Driven Eco-Smart City” and “Khobi: Community-Centred Eco-Smart Transformation,” where sustainable tourism, business, and communities will be enhanced and empowered through various interventions. We want to make green and creative businesses more visible, valued, and viable in Poti and Khobi. This is not just about your success — it’s about building a municipality that thrives by respecting nature, celebrating culture, generating income, and supporting local talent.
Let’s turn Poti and Khobi into a place where sustainability is not just a word, but a way of life — and a source of opportunity.
