UNDP invites young bloggers, vloggers, and social media content creators from across Georgia to take part in a national youth social media campaign on waste reduction and recycling. The campaign is implemented under the EU-funded project “Circular Economy: Waste Reduction and Recycling for Citizens’ Health.”

The campaign aims to engage young people and use their creativity and social media platforms to raise awareness about waste reduction, recycling, reuse, and responsible consumption, while promoting more sustainable lifestyles.

To support this goal, the campaign will bring together young content creators who can turn environmental issues into engaging, accessible, and relatable content for young audiences. Participants do not need to be professional influencers or have a large following. Creativity, a good understanding of their audience, and the ability to communicate ideas in ways that inform, engage, and inspire people to take action are what matter most.

Who can apply

The competition is open to young people who:

• are between 18-29 years old
• are residents of Georgia
• create content on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, or other social media platforms
• are interested in environmental issues, sustainability, and positive social change
• are ready to develop and implement a youth-focused social media campaign

Young women and men from all regions of Georgia, including underserved and diverse communities, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Campaign themes

Participants will have the opportunity to choose a topic that interests them within the areas of waste reduction and the circular economy. Campaigns may focus on:

• Waste reduction and prevention
• Collection and recycling of used batteries
• E-waste recycling
• Packaging and waste sorting
• Reuse and repair
• Circular economy and responsible consumption
• Sustainable and environmentally responsible lifestyles

The approach can be educational, entertaining, humorous, creative or a combination of these. Particularly interesting will be ideas that present environmental issues in ways that are relevant, easy to understand and connected to the everyday lives of young people.

What the programme offers

Up to 12 young content creators will be selected. They will receive:

• Specialised online training on the circular economy, waste management and social media campaigning
• Mentorship and consultations from environmental and communications experts
• Opportunities to network and collaborate with young content creators from across Georgia
• A GEL 3,000 implementation award to develop and deliver their campaign

Campaign implementation

Selected participants will develop and implement their campaigns during January-March 2027 (3 months). They will take part in training and mentoring activities and create and publish the agreed content through their own social media channels.

Further information on the type and quantity of content, campaign requirements, and project visibility and branding guidelines will be provided to selected participants.

Application

To participate in the competition, applicants should submit:

• A short biography, together with links to their social media profiles
• A brief description of their audience and content style
• A campaign idea, submitted either as a written concept of no more than one page or as a video of no more than two minutes.

The campaign concept should briefly describe:

• The key campaign message
• The type of content to be created
• The target audience and how it will be engaged
• How the campaign will encourage waste reduction, recycling and more sustainable practices.

The application deadline is 1 November 2026.
