Over the last 15 years, UNDP has worked with several countries in the region including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro and others to build their ODA systems, train a core of national ODA experts and design and run projects that make a difference on the ground.  

UNDP has become the partner of choice for donors in Europe and CIS who want to elevate their ODA policy and ambitions, ready to support them on a wide range capacity development requests, ranging from setting up new institutions, new strategies, laws and strategic guidelines for the respective country’s development cooperation policy, all the way to piloting M&E and reporting tools, to communication, advocacy and awareness-rising support, to implementation support, including through trust funds, experience sharing mechanisms, and other special purpose funding vehicles.
