Your request will not be left unanswered
eCitizen offers concrete solutions
September 24, 2025
Citizens’ trust in public institutions depends primarily on the speed and transparency of their response. That is why the eCitizen platform demonstrates how digital solutions can restore dialogue between people and local administrations. One of the platform’s greatest advantages is its simplicity, but even more important is the fact that every submission actually goes to the right place and does not remain unanswered. Behind each request stands an administrator – a person responsible for reading your message, understanding it, and forwarding it to the appropriate department. These administrators are not an invisible system; they are real people from your community, dedicated to ensuring that eCitizen works quickly, accurately, and effectively.
Ilijaš: Everyday communication with citizens
Dženan Suša, IT administrator in the Municipality of Ilijaš, oversees the functioning of the platform in this local community. “Citizens submit questions every day to the Mayor and councilors, and they respond regularly. Employees post the answers every morning and make sure to react as quickly as possible,” says Suša. He encourages everyone living in Ilijaš to install the application, as it is the fastest and most direct way to reach decision-makers.
Teslić: From a broken pool table to communal issues
In Teslić, administrator Nenad Bubić points out that citizens have already recognized the benefits of digital communication. “So far, we have 239 registered users and more than 400 anonymous submissions. The most common are issues such as manholes, playgrounds, inspection reports, and similar,” explains Bubić. An interesting example was a report about a broken pool table next to the elementary school, which was replaced within 48 hours. “We try to respond within 48 hours. Sometimes it’s just suggestions, but every one of them is taken seriously.”
Prijedor: Digitalization in the service of efficiency
Dražena Timarac, administrator in Prijedor, highlights the importance of eCitizen in modernizing public administration: “The system enables fast processing of requests and simple communication between citizens and the local government. People don’t have to come to the City Administration as often, since many things can be solved through the app.” She adds that eCitizen is not just a technical solution but a real bridge between citizens and the administration, ensuring that nothing is ignored.
The people behind the screen – a team that listens
Although the application seems simple, what makes it functional is the dedication of those working behind the scenes. Administrators in Ilijaš, Teslić, Prijedor, and dozens of other communities prove daily that responsibility and communication can form the foundation for better functioning of local self-government.
Report, suggest, participate
eCitizen is more than just an app. It is a direct link to those who make decisions in your community. Through it, you can report a problem, propose a solution, and actively participate in creating a better environment. Your voice matters and reaches those who truly listen. Every submission is taken seriously, and none is left unanswered. So, use what is available to you.
eCitizen was developed within the framework of the Municipal Environmental Governance Project (MEG2), jointly funded by the Government of Switzerland, Sweden, and the Government of the Czech Republic, as well as the European Union, and implemented by UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
