Strengthening the Innovation Ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina Through Cooperation With Slovenia
November 13, 2025
From 3 to 7 November 2025, 13 representatives of institutions and organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Slovenia to exchange experiences on how innovation can drive sustainable development and economic growth through the development of a supportive innovation ecosystem.
During the visit, participants learned about the structure and functioning of Slovenia’s innovation ecosystem, as well as practices that can be adapted and applied in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Participants had the opportunity to gain deeper insight into examples of effective innovation management, financial support instruments, regulatory frameworks that foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and mechanisms of cooperation among key actors – from academia and the private sector to public institutions and research organizations.
The exchange of experience and direct contact with Slovenian partners will contribute to strengthening the capacities of domestic institutions and aligning Bosnia and Herzegovina’s innovation policies with European standards and leading international practices, creating space for future cooperation and joint initiatives in the fields of innovation and digital transformation.
The study visit was organized within the project “Economic Governance for Growth (EGG2),” funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway and implemented by UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
