Sweden, through the UN Portfolio "Supporting the Acceleration of the Green Transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina", is supporting the implementation of the project "Supporting Industry and SMEs in Adapting to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the Climate Transition." The project will help companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina align with the European Union's new climate and trade requirements while strengthening their competitiveness in the EU market.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina in partnership with the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska.

CBAM represents a significant regulatory change for companies exporting to the European Union. Timely preparation will be essential for accurate emissions monitoring and reporting, reducing compliance costs and maintaining export competitiveness.

As part of the project, technical workshops, specialised training sessions and certification programmes will be organised for companies, engineers, energy and environmental managers, and other professionals involved in emissions accounting and CBAM compliance.

Particular attention will be given to small and medium-sized enterprises operating within the value chains of exporters to the European Union. Through practical training, participants will gain knowledge on product carbon footprints, customer requirements and decarbonisation opportunities.

Training activities will be organised at multiple locations across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Public calls with information on training dates, locations and the application process will be published on a rolling basis throughout the implementation of the project.
