The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Banco Millennium Atlântico signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday, November 13, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding establishing strategic cooperation in the areas of digital financial inclusion, financial literacy, social innovation, and impact investment, reinforcing both institutions' commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Angola.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation aimed at bringing financial solutions closer to the population, especially underbanked communities, women entrepreneurs, and young innovators, promoting financial literacy and the use of digital technologies as tools for social transformation.
“This partnership with UNDP represents an important milestone. Together, we want to transform realities, boost financing, support innovative projects, and promote gender equality. We want our joint actions to have a lasting impact on communities and pave the way for more balanced and sustainable economic growth,” said Isabel Espírito Santo, CEO of ATLANTICO.
Partnerships with the financial sector are crucial to ensuring that technological and economic progress translates into human progress. Over the next two years, the institutions will develop joint initiatives focused on training, financial education, entrepreneurship, and digital solutions that promote equitable access to financial services, especially in unbanked communities and rural areas.
The partnership between UNDP and Banco Millennium Atlântico is based on the belief that sustainable development depends on strong alliances between the public and private sectors, capable of bringing together technical knowledge, innovation, and responsible investment to accelerate progress in priority areas for the country.
