June 29, 2026
In the context of growing interest among farmers and dehkans of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in accessing international markets, understanding the requirements of international standards and certification procedures is becoming a key condition for successful export activities.
This guide was developed within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project "Enhancing the Resilience of the Local Population and Promoting Green, Inclusive Development of the Most Vulnerable Communities in the Aral Sea Region" with the financial support of the Government of the Russian Federation, and provides practical recommendations on the application of international standards and obtaining quality certificates for the export of agricultural products to the European Union (EU), Southwest Asia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The guide covers the key stages of certification — from preparing the necessary documentation and conducting product quality checks to practical examples of local exporters successfully operating in international markets. Special attention is given to the requirements of the EU Single Market and the specifics of import procedures for fruit and vegetable products.
The guide is intended for farmers and dehkans interested in exporting agricultural products, and is based on the general principles of international certification, taking into account the specific requirements of target markets.
