Mr. Anas Fayyad Qarman

UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan

Anas Fayyad Qarman assumed his role at UNDP Uzbekistan in August 2023, bringing a wealth of experience to the position. Prior to this, he held the position of UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Serbia, a role he occupied from 2019 onward. In Serbia, he oversaw a spectrum of responsibilities, encompassing the formulation, delivery, and vigilant monitoring of programs within the UNDP framework.
 
With 20 years UN career spanning back to 2003, Mr. Qarman's journey began as a National Officer with UNHCR in Jordan. In this capacity, he supported the preparedness measures for potential population displacements stemming from regional conflicts in Iraq and adjacent areas. Mr. Qarman's expertise then rippled across several key UN agencies, including UNICEF, UNOCHA & UNOPS. Notably, from 2011 to 2014, he led crucial programs and operations under the Ashraf camp project while serving in Iraq and Yemen. Mr. Qarman's journey also encompassed diverse roles within UNDP in Iraq, Bangladesh, and Kuwait in different capacities.
 
In his current role as UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan, he will continue driving sustainable progress and positive transformation within the realm of international development. Mr. Qarman holds a degree in Agriculture Science from Jordan University of Science & Technology, complemented by a Human Resources Management Diploma and a Master of Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology.
