The joint project of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNDP "Sustainable Rural Development" financed by Islamic Development Bank and OPEC Fund for International Development, aims to support 170 pilot communities in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi and Khorezm regions.

Based on the results of the "Capacity assessment of the rural school and digital literacy of the school students and teachers" prepared by the UNDP local expert, the project plans to assist in the technical improvement of selected rural schools in the pilot regions.

Digital smartboards allow teachers to present information in a more engaging and interactive way, and they can also be used to create and deliver multimedia lessons. Computers provide students with access to a wealth of educational resources and allow them to develop their digital literacy skills. LAN hubs and cables connect computers together and allow students to share resources and collaborate on projects.

Also, the additional 4 rural schools will receive the same equipment in the first half of 2024.

“Investing in education today is an investment for the future. Digital smart boards and modern computers will allow students to receive information in a more interesting and interactive way. It will be possible to conduct multimedia lessons. Thanks to computers connected to the internet, our students will have the opportunity to effectively use useful educational resources,”

said Fakhriddin Jamolov, director of the school #18, located in the Varozun makhalla.
