The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Multi-Country Office for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean announces a Call for Concept Notes and Proposals under the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Program (SGP) Operational Phase 8.
Civil society organizations, community-based organizations, and other eligible community partners are invited to submit innovative, locally driven initiatives that address environmental challenges while advancing sustainable development. Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit concept notes and proposals that demonstrate innovation, community ownership, and the potential for lasting environmental and social impact. Successful applicants will gain access to grant financing as well as technical support, knowledge-sharing opportunities, and partnerships that can help scale and sustain results.
The GEF Small Grants Program, implemented by UNDP, finances community-led initiatives and places a strong emphasis on social inclusion, including the participation of indigenous peoples, youth, women and girls, and persons with disabilities. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the GEF Small Grants Program National Coordinator in their country for details about guidelines, eligibility criteria, application requirements and deadlines for their respective countries.
“Communities are at the forefront of addressing environmental challenges and building a more sustainable future,” said Stephanie Ziebell, UNDP Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean’s Resident Representative (a.i.). “Through the GEF Small Grants Program, UNDP is investing in local leadership and innovative solutions that can create meaningful change for people and planet. Our National Coordinators are eager to hear from interested applicants.”
