The GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP), implemented by UNDP, hosted the inaugural meeting of the newly appointed National Steering Committee (NSC) in Dominica on Tuesday, 18 August.

Bringing together representatives from civil society, government, academia, youth, gender and environmental organizations, and the private sector, the NSC will provide strategic guidance and oversight for the implementation of the GEF-SGP, supporting community-led initiatives that generate local and global environmental benefits.

Members also reviewed the approved Operational Phase 8 Country Programme Strategy, the 2026 Work Plan, and preparations for the upcoming Call for Proposals - creating new funding opportunities for civil society and community organizations to implement innovative environmental and sustainable development projects.
