This project is an initiative, funded by Japanese government, being implemented by UNDP in 18 countries, including Nepal. This training is facilitated by former member, UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights with the objective to support companies operating in Nepal to prevent and mitigate potential or actual adverse impacts on human rights. Most specifically, companies with learn conducting human rights due diligence (HRDD), be prepared, and competitive in the global market.

B+HR Academy

The Business and Human Rights (B+HR) Academy of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is launching a 2-day intensive training on 16th and 17th March 2023 in Kathmandu, to raise awareness among representatives of companies operating in Nepal, targeting Japanese companies and their supply chains. However, it is relevant for all companies, including government owned business enterprises.

The training will have various international personal to deliver on different themes. The sessions will be conducted in English language. It combines PowerPoint presentations, groups exercises, quizzes and interactive dialogues. Both international and national examples as well as case studies will be used to explain BHR standards and challenges. Participants will be expected to participate actively in discussions/exercises and design suitable HRDD steps and remediation for hypothetical scenarios.

• Successful candidates are not required to pay any fees or costs incurred during the trainings
