Building Resilience for Strengthening Human Security

Developed under UNDP's Enhancing Human Security through Local Climate Actions (EHSLCA) project, supported by Japan, the photo book Building Resilience for Strengthening Human Security highlights community-led efforts to address climate change and build resilience in Karnali Province, Nepal.
The EHSLCA project, implemented from March 2023 to December 2024, reflects the collaborative efforts of UNDP and the Government of Japan, under the leadership of the Government of Nepal. Grounded in a human security approach, the project introduced a cross-sectoral model to reduce climate and disaster risks and strengthen long-term adaptive capacity.
Through inclusive local engagement, it supported practical solutions such as clean energy, climate-smart agriculture, early warning system, and community infrastructure—contributing to improved livelihoods and resilience. The Japanese edition shares these stories to broaden awareness and inspire greater cooperation on climate resilience and human security.
