UNDP convened a working session on the Right to a Healthy Environment monitoring tool, facilitated by global technical expertise and supported by the Government of Sweden.

Highlights from today’s working session on the Right to a Healthy Environment (R2HE) monitoring tool brought together participants to explore how the tool can support stronger monitoring, analysis and reporting on the links between human rights and the environment.

Organized by UNDP and facilitated by Mr. Sean O’Connell, UNDP Environment and Human Rights Global Technical Specialist, the session provided a space for discussion on how the monitoring tool can be applied in practice and adapted to strengthen institutional approaches to environmental human rights issues.

The session also highlighted the importance of building knowledge and systems that support more evidence-based and rights-based responses to environmental challenges. This initiative was carried out with support from the Government of Sweden.
