On 7 August 2025, stakeholders from across government, civil society, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), the private sector, and NGOs came together for the validation workshop of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Strategy and Action Plan under the Maldives RREEF Programme.

The workshop focused on endorsing the action plan and ensuring its alignment with project goals and activities. Most importantly, it reaffirmed a shared commitment to inclusive development — ensuring that women, persons with disabilities, migrants, and other marginalized groups are meaningfully represented in both planning and implementation.

Supported by the Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR), this milestone marks a step forward in embedding equity and inclusion at the core of sustainable development efforts in the Maldives.
