UNDP and ADB Strengthen Collaboration through New Administrative Arrangement on Creative Economy

Malé, Maldives | 6 June 2025 — The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Maldives and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have taken a key step forward in their ongoing collaboration to support economic diversification in the region. An Administrative Arrangement was formally signed by Mr. Thiam Hee Ng, ADB’s Regional Head for Regional Cooperation and Integration (RCI) in South Asia and Country Director for the Maldives, under the framework of Technical Assistance Project TA 9586-REG: Supporting Knowledge Solutions for New Development Strategies.
The arrangement was finalized with the signature of Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, UNDP Resident Representative for the Maldives, on 6 June 2025, confirming UNDP’s role as an implementing partner in the project.
The agreement will support the Workshop Series on Economic Diversification: The Creative Economy, an initiative aimed at fostering dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and innovation in support of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
UNDP Maldives looks forward to deepening its partnership with ADB to advance knowledge-based strategies that promote resilience, regional cooperation, and long-term development opportunities in the Maldives and across South Asia.
