Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology, Maldives' Water and Sanitation Department conducted a training workshop on development of Island Water Resource Management Plans and reviewing monitoring frameworks, supported by the Green Climate Fund project and UNDP Maldives.

The training was attended by council representatives from five islands, including AA. Bodufolhudhoo, AA. Himendhoo, ADh. Kunburudhoo, ADh. Dhigurah and Dh. Bandidhoo. In the training, UNDP conducted a session on gender mainstreaming in projects and accessing financing through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP).

The workshop was an important step in building the capacity of local councils to manage and monitor their water resources effectively, with the support of the Green Climate Fund project and UNDP Maldives. It is part of a larger effort to promote sustainable water resource management in the Maldives, which is crucial for the country's economic and social development.
