Government of Pakistan Supports Digital Inclusion Through the Empowerment Hub for Persons with Disabilities
June 2, 2026
The Government of Pakistan has contributed to the Empowerment Hub for Persons with Disabilities, supporting efforts to expand access to inclusive digital technologies for persons with disabilities across the Maldives. The initiative is being implemented by UNDP Maldives in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare.
The contribution will enable the rollout of accessible information and communication technology (ICT) equipment, enhancing opportunities for learning, skills development and participation. By improving access to assistive and digital technologies, the initiative seeks to reduce barriers and promote greater inclusion of persons with disabilities in education, employment and community life.
The Empowerment Hub serves as a platform to strengthen accessibility and foster independent living through inclusive services and technology. The latest support from the Government of Pakistan builds on ongoing efforts to create more equitable opportunities for persons with disabilities and advance the principle of leaving no one behind.
UNDP Maldives continues to work with government and development partners to strengthen disability inclusion and ensure that all people can participate fully in the country's social and economic development.
