On June 15, Housing Development Corporation (HDC) launched its Strategic Plan 2025–2030, outlining a bold vision for the future of urban development in the Maldives. The strategy was developed with technical support from UNDP Maldives and sets the direction for sustainable, adaptive, and inclusive growth over the next five years.

The plan focuses on three strategic pillars:

• Adaptive Urbanism

• Economic Diversification

• Good Governance

This marks a significant step forward in aligning urban development with national sustainability goals and the priorities of local communities. UNDP Maldives is pleased to have supported the development of this forward-thinking strategy and remains committed to working with partners like HDC to promote resilient and inclusive cities.
