UNDP was awarded Best Development Partner of 2024
From 21 to 23 April 2025, UNDP Resident Representative Alexandra Solovieva and the team visted Osh and Batken oblasts, engaging with national partners to strengthen cooperation and accelerate results across key development priorities.
In Osh, UNDP was awarded Best Development Partner of 2024 by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President, in recognition of its contributions to socio-economic growth, climate resilience, and social cohesion. Discussions focused on supporting the newly adopted Osh Province Development Programme 2030, including expanding entrepreneurship, improving investment conditions, boosting local governance, and enhancing emergency preparedness and climate adaptation..
In Batken, UNDP presented a long-term regional development vision aligned with government priorities and outcomes of the Batken 2024 Investment Forum. Commitments were made to support inclusive economic growth, trade cooperation, digital public services, and municipal climate adaptation.
City-level engagement with the Vice Mayors of Osh and Batken prioritized investment councils, youth and women’s entrepreneurship, digitalization, and sustainable urban planning.
UNDP also met with project beneficiaries whose lives have improved through initiatives such as value chain development, creative industries support, digitalization of public services, and women and youth entrepreneurship. These efforts have enhanced economic resilience, service delivery, and social inclusion, especially in remote and underserved areas.
Across both regions, national and local partners recognized UNDP as a strategic, solutions-oriented development partner. UNDP will build on this momentum by scaling up successful models, strengthening policy engagement, and ensuring its support remains closely aligned with the Government’s development agenda.
