The Indo Gangetic Plain (IGP) which faces frequent incidence of climate extremes covers five states (Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal). Together, they occupy nearly 15 percent of the total geographical area and house approximately 38 percent of the population of the country.
This study explores the impacts of climate change on value chains of identified agri-commodities in this region, the cost of adaptation to climate change, as well as quantifies the losses borne by value chain actors in post-harvest steps.
