Study on e-mobility and Market Study in Bosnia and Herzegovina

November 26, 2025

The Study on E-Mobility and Market in Bosnia and Herzegovina provides a comprehensive overview of the current state, potential, and challenges of developing electromobility as part of the country’s green transition.

As part of the research, a road transport model of Bosnia and Herzegovina until 2050 was developed, including a scenario-based analysis of the vehicle fleet structure, energy consumption, CO₂ emissions, and diagrams of power system load resulting from electric vehicle charging.

Special attention is given to regulatory issues and challenges that may arise in accessing the electricity grid and power supply – from individuals seeking to install chargers for personal use to companies that see investments in charging infrastructure as a future business opportunity.

The study represents an important foundation for planning sustainable, low-carbon transport and for developing policies that support the decarbonization of the transport sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This study was developed within the framework of the “Green Economic Development” project, funded by Sweden and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund of Republika Srpska, entity and cantonal ministries, and other partners.
