June 16, 2025
This Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) report presents the background, context, effects, impact, recovery needs and recovery strategy following the impact of Hurricane Beryl in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The report preparation was led by the Government of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG), under the overall leadership of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Information Technology, with the technical assistance and financial support of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), United Nations Agencies (UNRCO, ECLAC, FAO, PAHO, UNDRR, UNESCO, UNICEF, UN Women, UNDP, WFP) and the European Union, with facilitation by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The PDNA also benefited from the valuable inputs of bilateral and multilateral partners, such as the World Bank, Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), and the Caribbean Catastrophe Recovery Insurance Facility (CCRIF).
The PDNA is a critical step in the recovery and reconstruction process as it will help understand the scale of resources required for recovery and reconstruction by estimating damage, losses and needs. In addition, it will support the prioritization and allocation of resources through multi-sector recovery planning.
