The “Climate resilient livelihoods of horticultural producers in Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan” project has issued the first newsletter highlighting main activities of the project for the period of September 2022 - March 2023.

What has been done within this period?

  • The project installed 20 small agro-meteostations in Fergana Valley to provide farmers with more precise agrometeorological data.

  • With Japanese experts, we trained farmers on how to introduce kaizen in business processes and build climate-informed planning skills of horticultural producers.

The “Climate resilient livelihoods of horticultural producers in Fergana valley in Uzbekistan” project is a joint initiative of UNDP and Uzhydromet funded by the Government of Japan. The project aims to meet the needs of agricultural communities in the Fergana Valley by modernizing of agrometeorological observation networks and early warnings system, shaping agrometeorological services for horticultural producers and implementing climate-informed planning.
