The Green Development Finance Assessment (Green DFA) provides a comprehensive analysis of the existing financial flows channeled to green development priorities in the country, and identifies the needs and the opportunities for the effective mobilization of additional finance as well as to provide an institutional ecosystem analysis, including an analysis of policy and regulatory environment and entry points and consideration of de-risking and development financing facilities/mechanisms.

The findings and recommendations of the Green DFA informed the formulation of a holistic umbrella Green Finance Strategy for Uzbekistan to better align government’s existing financing policies with the medium and long-term national green priorities, mobilize private and public financing for green development, prioritize relevant policies, and ensure that financing policies and instruments are coherent and sustainable.
