COVID-19 global pandemic as well as restrictive response measures introduced in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection have significantly changed the usual lifestyle. Governments of countries worldwide made decisions to temporary shut educational institutions in efforts to deter the COVID-19 outbreak. According to the UNESCO, more than 100 countries closed educational institutions nationwide that affected more than half of students globally.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations has launched the project on development of electronic distance vocational learning platform for professions demanded in labor market.
Considering the large demand among population, especially amongst the youth, the vocational training in Uzbekistan, along with programs of general education character, has also moved to online space.
Distance learning platform is the online database of educational video-tutorials on the basis of current short-term courses of the Monocenter “Ishga marhamat” (welcome to the job) specialized in providing services to unemployed people. These courses can be taken online both during the period of coronavirus pandemic and beyond.
