Collectively, accelerators, business incubators and hackathons play an important role in shaping the digital economy by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and facilitating the emergence and growth of new companies and start-ups in the country. The digital economy can play an important role in creating inclusion and reducing poverty by, for example, reducing the information gap for poor or rural workers and promoting the inclusion of women and youth in the productive workforce.

On November 8, 2023, in the building of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a presentation of new methodological manuals on organizing hackathons and launching and managing business incubators and startup accelerators took place.

The presentation provided a description of the main stages of conducting hackathons, creating and developing incubators and accelerators, and also discussed strategies for attracting investors and supporting entrepreneurial activity.

As a continuation of this event, on November 10-12, 2023, it is planned to hold an exemplary hackathon “TechGenius” (www.techgenius.uz), with the participation of Evgeny Anikin, founder of “Phystech.Genesis” as a moderator, and a number of experts from well-known companies such as Twitter, as mentors. The hackathon is expected to include young developers, designers and university students as participants, specialists responsible for innovative activities of industry associations, banks and large companies as guests.
