Meeting with the Deputy Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS at the Ishga Markhamat Mono-Center

On June 22, 2022, the meeting of E. Mukhitdinov, First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, with Marina Walter, Deputy Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, took place in the building of the “Ishga Markhamat” Monocenter in Tashkent.

During the meeting, the priorities of cooperation were discussed and the results of joint projects of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and UNDP “Promotion of youth employment in Uzbekistan” and “Adapting population skills to the post-pandemic economy in Ferghana Valley” were noted.

Matilda Dimovska, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, Doina Munteanu, her Deputy, representatives of the “Ishga Markhamat” Monocentre and the “Worldskills Uzbekistan” Association for the development and promotion of working professions also attended the meeting.

During the talks, Erkin Mukhitdinov, First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, praised the contribution of the projects in supporting the reforms implemented by the government in the field of vocational training and skills development of the population in the post-pandemic period.

A very interesting part of the event was the meeting with young entrepreneurs - winners of the Startup Initiatives contest organized by the project, during which they presented their projects and shared their impressions of the contest.

Guests of the event were also given a tour around the “Ishga Markhamat” Mono-Center and were shown the equipment purchased under the joint project of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and UNDP “Promotion of youth employment in Uzbekistan” with the financial support of the Japanese Government for classes on tailoring, software development and aesthetic cosmetology competencies.
