March 18, 2026

The infographic presents the key findings of the sixth annual Media Literacy Index of Ukrainians survey for 2025. The survey was prepared by the NGO Detector Media within the framework of the Inclusive Recovery Support for Resilience and Human Security in Ukraine project, which is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine with funding from the Government of Japan.

The study explores trends in the Media Literacy Index from 2020 to 2025, as well as the role of media in society, perceptions of the media industry and public service media, changes in media consumption preferences and internet use, digital competence, trust in media, and vulnerability to disinformation, manipulation, and sponsored content.

The research was conducted using a quantitative survey using face-to-face interviews with tablets and a standardised CAPI questionnaire. A total of 1,612 respondents aged 18–65 from across Ukraine participated. The sample is representative by age, gender, settlement type, and region. The survey was not conducted in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions, or the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
