“Empowering Rural Smallholders in Turkey through Digital Marketing and Business Solutions in Post COVID-19 Period” Report

This report assesses the availability of digital business solutions in the agriculture sector and the demand for these services from rural smallholders in Turkey to be able to further help to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on smallholders in the agriculture sector.

It is the 2nd phase of the “Rapid Impact Assessment of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Agri-Food Sector and Rural Areas in Turkey” study, which was conducted jointly by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MOAF) in order to provide evidence-based support for the UN Level assessment Report. By this study, the evidence-based policy recommendations were laid down for mitigation of the impact of the Pandemic on agricultural livelihood in 2021.

The “Empowering Rural Smallholders in Turkey through Digital Marketing and Business Solutions in Post COVID-19 Period” Report was studied as an effort in the implementation areas of IFAD Projects with the goal to follow up and support the research on the impact of COVID-19 and aim to empower rural smallholders.
