Antelias, 15 July 2026  — Today, H.E. Ms. Sandra De Waele, Ambassador of the European Union to Lebanon, together with Ms. Blerta Aliko, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), accompanied by General Jean Awad, Head of the ISF Gendarmerie Unit, visited the Antelias police station to stress their support to the Internal Security Forces (ISF)—Lebanon's primary civilian security service provider.

The visit showcased the ongoing rehabilitation of the Antelias station, one of three ISF stations being upgraded under a project funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, alongside the handover of new vehicles and a water truck that will support ISF operations in southern Lebanon.

This is part of a broader package of support valued at more than US$3 million to strengthen the ISF's operational effectiveness at a critical time for Lebanon.

Beyond infrastructure and equipment, the project also promotes closer cooperation between the ISF, municipalities and local communities through regular dialogue to identify local priorities and concerns and ensure security responses better reflect the needs of communities.

These efforts contribute to strengthening State institutions and authority over Lebanese territory, and support Lebanon’s term stability and recovery.
