Gender Equality, Innovation and Digitalisation as Cross-Cutting Enablers
Gender equality, innovation, and digitalisation are at the core of UNDP’s approach in Angola. These cross-cutting enablers reinforce the impact of our work across health, employment, and climate action, ensuring that solutions are inclusive, sustainable, and tailored to community needs.
UNDP promotes gender equality throughout all programme areas, advocating for the full participation of women, girls, and other vulnerable groups in accessing opportunities, services, and decision-making processes. We work with government institutions, civil society and the private sector to help remove structural and social barriers, contributing to a more equitable and just society.
Innovation is a practical tool for tackling complex development challenges. UNDP encourages the use of data, pilot initiatives, agile methodologies, and community-driven solutions to improve programme effectiveness and responsiveness.
Digitalisation is another key pillar, both as a means to modernise public services and as a tool to expand access to information, rights and opportunities. UNDP supports the digital transformation of management systems, education platforms, financial inclusion mechanisms, and community-level service delivery — particularly in health, justice, and social protection.
These enablers are advanced through strategic partnerships with public institutions, civil society, innovation hubs, academia and the private sector. In close coordination with UN Women, UNV, and other UN agencies, UNDP supports joint initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, inclusive volunteerism, and context-adapted digital solutions.
