Namibia LGBTI Inclusion Index Report
Namibia LGBTI Inclusion Index Report
June 19, 2026
The Namibia LGBTI Inclusion Index affirms that inclusive development requires inclusive data. By making disparities visible and measurable, it provides evidence to support more inclusive policies and development outcomes while strengthening understanding of the barriers faced by LGBTI people across areas such as health, education, economic well-being, personal security and civic participation. In doing so, it represents an important step toward ensuring that all people—regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics—are recognized, counted and included in national development efforts.
Developed through a collaborative process led by UNDP with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the report also highlights critical data gaps and identifies opportunities to strengthen data-related systems, policies and advocacy to advance inclusion and support the principle of leaving no one behind.
