The Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2.0 Stocktake was undertaken under UNDP’s Climate Promise 2 project, with generous support from the Government of Germany. It assesses Mongolia’s progress toward achieving the targets and goals set in NDC2.0, which was approved in 2019 and submitted to the UNFCCC in 2020. This NDC2.0 Stocktake exercise played a pivotal role in informing the formulation of Mongolia’s NDC3.0 targets and actions. By conducting a comprehensive review of NDC2.0 implementation, the exercise provided an evidence-based foundation for setting targets that are both realistic and ambitious, ensuring alignment with national priorities, strategies and international climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.
