The Just Energy Transition Framework (JETF) is a strategic guide to steer Mongolia’s energy transition. Based on widespread consultations and engagement in Mongolia, lessons from international experience and scenario modelling, it recommends which policy reforms Mongolia should enact and how they can be implemented. It aligns with Mongolia’s international climate commitments and national development priorities, guided by Vision-2050 and the Updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) 3.0. The JETF was jointly developed by the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia and UNDP under the UN Joint SDG Fund Programme on Accelerating a Just Energy Transition in Mongolia, coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office.
