UNDP will be cooperating with the National Committee for Reducing Environmental Pollution (NCREP) through its EU funded “Advancing Health and Environmental Sustainability Through Action on Pollution" project and will take an active role in the implementation of the campaign "ЯНДАНГАА ХӨӨЛЬЕ-ӨНТЭЙ ӨВӨЛЖЬЕ" (Clean Chimney - Cozy Winter).

The campaign aims to reduce outdoor air pollution, improve indoor air quality, and prevent poisoning caused by improper use of coal briquettes through raising citizens` awareness. Today the campaign was kickstarted with a press conference on Sep 2nd, 2022, and a series of outreach activities will be carried out within its scope by the organizers including National Committee for Reducing Environmental Pollution, Ecological Police Department, National Center for Public Health and Air Pollution Reducing Department of Capital City.

“Advancing Health and Environmental Sustainability Through Action on Pollution" project team will collaborate with key organizers to disseminate information and recommendations on the prevention of air and environmental pollution through social media platforms. More importantly, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Leave No One Behind, the project team will work towards delivering this information to target groups such as population living in the most polluted areas who do not have access to digital media outlets.
