Legal framework

The Standard Basic Assistance Agreement (SBBA) embodies the basic conditions under which the UNDP shall assist the Government in carrying out its development projects, and under which such UNDP projects shall be executed.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework is the most important instrument for planning and implementation of the UN development activities at country level. The Cooperation Framework—an agreement between the UN and the host government—determines and reflects the UN development system’s contributions in the country and shapes the configuration of UN assets required inside and outside the country.

UNDP’s Country Programme Document is considered part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. It represents UNDP's contribution to the Cooperation Framework.
