ISF, Canada, and UNDP Visit Marks Rehabilitation of Minieh ISF Station in North Lebanon

North Lebanon – 18 May 2026 — Today, H.E. Mr. Gregory Galligan, Ambassador of Canada to Lebanon and Syria, together with Ms. Blerta Aliko, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and General Moustafa Badran, Head of the ISF North Area, visited the newly rehabilitated Minieh ISF Station in Deir Ammar, North Lebanon, alongside representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities and local authorities.
Through support from the Government of Canada, UNDP upgraded the station to make it more accessible, improve the working environment for ISF personnel, and strengthen services for the surrounding community. The intervention also included vehicles and equipment to support daily operations.
During the visit, participants toured the station and met with ISF officers and local officials to discuss the importance of strengthening policing services and reinforcing cooperation between national institutions and local authorities. Discussions also highlighted the role of the station in supporting communities across the Minieh area and contributing to public safety and stability.
The visit reflects the continued partnership between the Government of Canada, the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the Internal Security Forces, and UNDP to strengthen public institutions and support communities facing growing pressures
