Anarbek Tuleberdiev is a man who, since 2004, knows every route, every mountain trail, and story in the Issyk-Kul region that tourists love to listen to. He worked as a guide for more than 15 years before realizing his dream - he founded his own travel company, "Red Mount".

"The dream was simple, but also ambitious - to unite the best experienced guides, horse breeders, owners of yurt camps, and create a team that we can be proud of," says Anarbek.

In just two years, "Red Mount" has confidently established itself on the tourist map of Kyrgyzstan. This was facilitated by many years of experience, a team approach, and the support of the UNDP "Aid for Trade" project in developing adventure tourism value chains.

How did the project influence the development of "Red Mount"?

🔹 Exhibition in Tashkent:

Last year, Anarbek had the opportunity to present his company "Red Mount" and its services to tourists at the international tourism exhibition in Tashkent. Participation allowed him to establish new business contacts, conclude partnership agreements, and organize six full-fledged tours, including high-complexity trekking routes in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.

🔹 Info tour of Issyk-Kul:

Thanks to participation in the familiarization tour organized by UNDP, Anarbek's company established cooperation with tour operators from the Alay and Jalal-Abad regions. The result is the joint development of new cross-regional routes and the reception of tourist groups already in the current season.

🔹 Training and practical classes that yielded results:

"This exceeded all expectations. We were taught not only tour sales techniques, but also how to prepare presentations, draw up contracts, and develop marketing materials. “It was a real business school in action,” Anarbek shares.

The knowledge gained allowed Anarbek and the staff of Red Mount to improve the quality of tourism products and services, expand the online presence, strengthen business ties at the regional level, and lay the foundation for the sustainable development of the company.

Red Mount is a shining example of how knowledge, partnership, and commitment can contribute to the development of tourism as a sustainable economic sector. This approach creates jobs, strengthens local communities, and promotes the unique natural and cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan.

Anarbek’s story reflects the priorities defined in the National Tourism Development Programme until 2030: increasing the sector’s contribution to GDP, improving Kyrgyzstan’s international competitiveness in tourism, and ensuring safety standards, especially in mountain destinations.
